Need to know diameter of bogen 3047 (manfrotto 029) head

Hi Guys,

Could anyone please tell me the diameter of the Manfrotto 029 bogen 3047 head at the base, where it connects to the legs?

I'm not sure why you are asking. There are two standard sizes, 3/8 and 1/4 inch. There is a readily available bushing that screws into a 3/8 female to make it 1/4. Some heads come with it.

I am assuming that you mean the threaded attachment size. I have the 3030 head and it attaches to a 3/8" threaded stud on the tripod legs.

Thanks for your answers, but what I wanted to know is the actual diameter of the 3047 base, measured across, like 2", 3" not the thread of the hole.

I am making a plate which goes on a surveyor tripod, that's why I need to know, how big to make this plate, where to put the bolts to fix the plate to the surveyor tripod.

Sorry for my awkward English, I'm German (living in Australia).
