Both bodies were pretty much out of the box...not sure what you are getting at here.

The out-of-box parameter settings for the two aren't quite the same. Add in changes in algorithms between the two releases and there's room for parameter adjustments to make the difference. One way to reduce the impact of this would be to shoot RAW with both and use the same post-processor to convert them to JPEG, using the same settings for saturation, contrast and sharpness. Note - DPP will use the in-camera settings by default.

hey Harelypugs! which Sigma 24 - 70 2.8 are u talking about? not the aspherical, right? how much did u pay for it? im debating whether to get the canon 28-135 IS USM lens or the sigma Sigma 24 - 70 2.8. im trying to stay away from the canon lens cuz iv seen some 100% crops of the photos taken with it and they are not the best. i know the canon has IS and USM, but a constant 2.8 lens "the sigma" is pretty nice to have.

Yeah, I kinda wanna pick up another 70-300 APO for my small bag so I have all my range covered. It's my quick throw in the car bag in case there's something going on.
