Oily blades?

Just wondering about some descriptions in eBay listings for used lenses.

I've seen some describing the aperture blades as being oil free. Why would they be oily?

I'm guessing if somebody tried to clean the internals themselves or maybe a small independent repair shop?

Has anybody ever bought a lens with an oily blade problem?

Blades can get oily through disuse. The oil will form a surface on the blades. Often this will lead to aperture blades sticking.
