I saw a car tv show, they released a book, and they were showing their photographer, and I saw what he was using: a 5D.

I was wondering why... I mean, Does a body needs to cost 3,500$ to be called "pro" bodies. Maybe the color rendition of the FF, other than that, i don't know.

5D isn't a pro body. That is reserved for 1Ds. 5D is a prosumer body.

40D is not a pro body, but like the 5D I get it can take pro photos

Yes. What is the point? A pro with a P&S can take better photos than I could with a 1Ds Mk II. I am just talking about a classification of the body.

Point it you classify it as not a pro body, I classify it by who ever is using it, take the 40D, quite a few are comparing it pretty closely to a MK3. So just because it does not cost no where near as much, does not mean it cannot give Pro results, hence pro body :)

Pro because of the features...such as faster this and faster that. But if you know how to use a camera. It has higher ISO settings, better fps, etc.. Pro is just a relative term imo.

My professor at school got a $7000 body (1ds MII i think) and a few lenses including the sigma 300-800mm. I used to have the XT (now i got the XTi) and he would get jealous that i can take better pictures than him.

I do mostly wildlife photography but on occasion i do some car shoots...
I know these are not the best pictures in the world, but for a XT prosumer camera it is not bad at all.

FWIW (I don't really care what you call it), Canon does include the 5D in their Pro Line brochure

lol, looks like a Carbon Fiber hood, most leave it unpainted on purpose, never understood why, but its the style with most Tuners

FWIW any camera is capable of taking quality shots, but for some the resolution and IQ of the 5D is a need, I loved my 5D

Taken with 300D and 50 1.8 (dont need the expensive gear for a good shot)

Gotta show off the bling. You wouldn't want to cover it up with paint.

Actually, race cars (granted this Audi is not one) have frequently had their hoods painted black to cut down on the reflection into the driver's eyes. It's also meant to show off the fact that the hood is carbon fiber; the same could probably be said for my tripod legs. :)

More importantly, the Carbon Fiber looks good cosmetically etc etc.... The idea for CF is primarily for weight savings.

Yep. I was at the Corvette Museum yesterday, and they had a fiberglass and a carbon fiber hood, one placed atop the other on a rack. Visitors got to lift each hood to judge the weight differential. The carbon fiber felt half as heavy; couldn't imagine how much heavier a steel counterpart would have been.
