A group of friends, the exotica band Waitiki, were playing locally so I went to see them and decided to bring the camera. I've never shot any type of performance before, but what the heck.
What the heck indeed. This is Extreme Photography if I've ever seen it. ISO 3200 and f/1.4 or f/1.8 most of the night. When forced to go with the zoom I was stuck at f/2.8 and 1/60, and to get the entire band I had to go to the ultra-wide angle and f/4.5 or f/5. Don't even ask about shutter speeds then.
No flash, of course. A 550EX would have lit up the place and probably ruined everyone's night.
All the same, I did get some decent shots - in my opinion, for a first-timer.

Any comments are welcome. Feel free to be brutal, as I'd like to learn this performance stuff a bit better. Any tips & tricks for this type of photography would be greatly appreciated.
