Ive been having a really good success rate with combineZM, combining up to 5-6 photos usually takes at most, 10 minutes.

I am currently trying to stack 9 images, and it gets very far - however once it says "wait for picture to be redrawn" it just never returns. It goes through all the passes, finds detail, removes islands, fills gaps, does the offsetting and scaling, etc.

I have given it 2 hours, and decided it probably wasn't going to work, removed an image (now 8 to stack) and will try this, but i am already losing an entire element to DOF blur.

Typically, the program tells you it's finished with the stack... so it's hanging on these. Has anyone else experienced this? It's obviously because of the number of images I am trying to stack.

Can't say I have experienced problems like that- I've stacked upto 16 shots (think that's the max I've done). Suspect you may be PC limited- how much RAM do you have ?

There's a Yahoo group here where you can ask the author- http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/combinez/ (external link)

im fairly certain my PC is not the issue, I have 2gb RAM, 2.8 duo core.

I could also try it on my pc with 3gb ram, but figured it wouldnt make a difference.

thanks for the link, i knew of the link, but didn't think to actually ask there, since i havent had much luck with customer "support" in the past (not with this product, but in general).

nope, XP.

tried again - it seems to complete the image, but the working dialog never registers that it's done. only happens with a few stacks i've tried.

It's probably more useful to consult the author. Thanks again for the contact info.

Consult the author he is very helpful. I'm sure he can figure it out.

Probably best idea- sounds like your PC should be faster than mine (Core 2 duo at 2.67 Ghz 2Gb ram) but most of my stacks are done in a minute or two. Have you checked the other requirements for running CZM eg windows media player and some other dlls.
