Preying Mantis with egg case

I was out in the field today and happen to catch this guy laying its eggs.
Thought it was an intriguing sight. Thought I should share.

Yea, that casing turns rigid and becomes super strong, very high tensile strength!

If you have a lot of plants at your home take this (egg case) with you and let them hatch there. They'll eat up every kind of harmful pest you may unknowingly be harboring.

This is a good catch, BTW. I've seen the egg cases and the praying mantis but never the praying mantis laying the egg case down.

hah, yea well these things are so vicious looking I can't imagine any of them being female. But yes, this is a female laying eggs.
