Was out in the canoe the other day and happened upon momma and her baby

Very nice series. I like them all.

We are hoping to see some loons still in summer breeding plumage when we head to Maine in 2 weeks. We get wintering Loons down this way but they've lost all the color by that time.

Lucky you! I love #3 and #4. Aren't you a bit worried about bringing your gear in a canoe? I never dared... I'm too clumsy.

Thanks all for the comments

EdV - I was up at Baxter State Park a the end of Aug and saw a few loons, would think they will still have their breeding plumage when you are there.
Montreal - I am quite comfortable in a canoe and pack my gear in a pelican case when I am on the water. Only open the box when I am ready to take a picture and when conditions are suitable
