Well I think I figured out how to move photos from DPP over to PS3 and work them and convert over to JPEG.

Let me know what you guys think.. I couldn't do the PP like I wanted due to the move but It'll have to do until PS gets a update.

These photos were taken in Sewanee which is a small college campus up ontop the Mountain near by.

Nice photos. I especially like the colors in shots #2, #3 and #4. The sharp, well-focused chipmunk in #5 (my favorite) is a nice contrast against the blurred background. Personal preference here, but to me, the exposure of shot #1 seems a tad high. Also, you might want to straighten the horizon for #2.

I hope you're enjoying your 40D - it's a fun camera. :)

Thanks #1 was tough as of the ligthing on ea side of me it either went under exposed or like this. Also for what ever reason I have the hardest time getting my photos straight. i think they need a level bubble inside the view finder. I think I tried to fix it and it went too far the other direction.

Gliderparentntn, I hope you don't mind, but I really liked the composition and light of #1 (you took an interesting shot :)), and see that you have "Image Editing OK" enabled, so... I edited #1 in Photoshop just a little. Reduced brightness a bit, desaturated a bit, straightened the horizon, reduced the red channel some, and added a little sharpening. :)

You should experiment with shot #2 - you could really bring out the colors of photo even more with a few PS adjustments. Would also like to see some 40D shots of those mountains nearby (I used to live in western North Carolina, so I know how pretty the countryside in eastern Tennessee is).

Chris,

Thanks for the photo edit.
When I entered this Chapel it was like wow look att he lighting in here I wanted to so much capture what i had seen just as i seen it then this PP has gotten me a bit backwards w/o the use of working direct with raw in CS3. I'm a bit new at Raw and PP anyhow and the least little hickup and I'm lost.
I didn't do alot to the PP of the photos to be honest I added some contrast and lightened a tad and that was about it.

The Mountain area I was at is called Monteagle Mountain. It's not much of one it's more so called the Cumberland Plateau than anything. I love the Mountains over in East tN as well and also going into NC.

Again Thanks for the photo editing.

I know what you mean. However, rumor has it that the next update of Camera Raw for Photoshop and Lightroom will be released on Thursday. I'm hoping the rumor is true, as I also miss working in RAW. To get around that, I've got the 40D set up to capture in both RAW and JPG, so that when 40D support is finally added, I can go back and edit earlier shots.

I uploaded the shots in CS3 Bridge so hopefully when the updates come about it'll read them then if not I have them in DPP so maybe I can get them from there. Only time will tell.

Here are a couple more shots taken tonight at ISO 1600. no PP and a tad of cropping on one of the images.

For those that don't know what this critter is. It's a Sygar Glider. This is a male and it's a leucistic another name for it is a Black eyed white or BEW for short. They are not Albino as the eyes are black not red. He's about 4 mos old or known as OOP (out of Pouch)

You're not the only one. I have that same problem. It's made worse by the fact that because of my glasses, I can't see the entire focus screen on the 30D. I'm hoping the 40D will eliminate that issue, but in any case one of the big reasons I want to upgrade to the 40D is that it has interchangeable focus screens, and one of them will have a grid pattern on it. That'll make it much easier for me to get level shots.

I just with B&H would hurry up and get a lot more of them in stock...
