How is the sharpness on this shot? Barn spider eating a Japanese Bettle in our pine tree. (f11, shutter speed 200, ISO 400 Flash fired. Shot with 70-300 at 115 with full set of Kenko tubes. Exif data is intact if you have any other questions.) I have only made some minor changes in Lightroom no CS2 work, no cropping.

Looks good to me :)
No reason to use ISO400 with flash- try ISO 100/200

Yeah it is just me being silly, had changed my ISO the day before to take some pictures of my friends dog and just forgot to change it back. I believe that this is a Barn Spider (Araneus Cavaticus).

nan3182,
As far as sharpness, it looks good on my monitor, you could always give it a bit more USM if you feel its needed.

Looks fine to me nan.

Talking of forgetting things, I took some superb shots of a large moth last night, only to realise, when I tried to review them, that the CF card was still sitting in my pc...

(I know, I should set the camera up not to take pics if there is no CF present.)

Thanks as well, I have been very hesitant to use USM on PS, want to spend time making sure I can focus well before applying USM. That and I really know almost nothing about PS.

Thanks and it is good to know that I am not the only one.

I had done this once as well but after it happened I changed my setting and it has saved me on more that one occasion.
