This little hovering beauty started frequenting our yard recently feasting on our flowers. For weeks I have tried to capture an image of it and today I got lucky. My wife says there is a pair but so far i have only seen one.

Nice captures. Hummers are certainly hard to photograph, especially if you want them in a natural surrounding like yours were. Number 2 is my favourite. Your patience was rewarded. Well done.

Very nice set of shots here. I guess us eastern hummingbird fanciers are going to have to depend on you guys for our fix till next spring. They've all left up here. :)

He looks like he's in mid-belly flop onto the flower! Great captures!

Well done. Now you will be addicted to shooting these birds. Keep posting ours have left for the winter.

thanks everyone for the complement.

Well done. Now you will be addicted to shooting these birds. Keep posting ours have left for the winter.

i have seen online many people who are so into shooting bird. i never understood the reason until this past weekend. i have to admit that i was so excited to have snap a few frames of this hummingbird i found myself looking into many other hummingbird shots.

i was quite limited by my lens, a 70-200/4 and i even found myself looking into longer ones.

addiction? i think so..

thanks. it was difficult, especially since it flies in from across the street at totally random times. that day it came a few times in a roll. i must have caught it with an empty stomach!
