One of my first shots with my Sigma 10-20mm.

Shot at MGM Studios, Disney World. Too much light so over exposed in parts. I don't have an ND filter for it yet.

This is my first WA lense so getting to grips with it. The bending of objects at the edges is new to me. Are there any composition tips to help with this?

Be honest, I am here to learn....

suggestions
1: get rid of the copy right watermark please. If you think about it you will discover its not necessary
2: your camera was not level. it was pointed, up, to try to catch the whole hat. that had lead to everything leaning in. You gotta be careful with the wa lens. you really need to keep camera horizontal, or you will get significant distortion.
3. There is nothing interesting in your foreground. its just empty. all of that could be cropped out.
4. good job on exposure.
this image has a nice sky, and has the big hat. all the other stuff detracts from it.
I would have considered walking to the stand on the left truning camera vertically (so you wont have to shoot up) and getting the image that way. use the stand to fill my foreground.

Thank you

Some cropping

I did a portrait shot, but from the same position so can't crop out the foregaround, sky and tree (might clone that out). I feel like composing will the outer 1/8 to be cropped out is the way forward.

Thanks for the tip on camera level, will stay level now :)

The exposure on the landscape one is better. the portrait one is a little over blown. I like the cropped horizontal on better. the vertical one is good also. I have had my sigma for a year and half. I have taken some of my favorite shots with it, but I find a fair proportion of the images I take with it dont work.

I like the portrait, the landscape could use a bit more forground. Nice job.

I recommend moving your watermark to the center of your frame where it'll help protect your image more. Not including a watermark like that is asking for image to be stolen. And there will always be someone out there that can find a use for an image - whether it's a very good picture or even average.

Agreed.

I've already had this happen to me. A friend got a promo leaflet through there door with their Porsche on it! Rang me up to tell me and I knew nothing of it. The image was downloaded from my website.

Re watermark.
Well then, I stand corrected. I see quite a few amazing images without watermark. Now, granted I dont make any money from photography, and therefore my perspective may be different. I have done a few free prints for friends, and even a couple for perfect strangers of some of my images. When I post and display my images I am hoping those who see it, enjoy it, and a watermark in the middle of image would ruin it for most people. I also find it presumptive and accusatory on my part to include the watermark.
Shame on the person who stole your picture of the Porsche. I would contact the company that is distributing the flier, if the resemblance is obvious. although, an image google for Porsche, yielded more than 32 million images, and in the first couple of pages I dont see any of them with watermarks.
My opinion of course.
