Let me try to link to a few images from a game I shot yesterday. The US MNT kept pace with the World's #1 team until Ronaldinho, Kaka and the rest of the crew proved too much.

Edit: Despite the topic of a previous thread being that there is no size limit to images hosted elsewhere, I keep getting errors, and I can't seem to figure out how to delete my thread, so until I can work out either of these, disregard this thread...:(

OK, here are a couple quick ones...

I took more than a dozen shots of Kaka, and not one had him looking up. Must be his style.

And, Ronaldinho's face really WAS this shiny - odd. It wasn't terribly hot at Soldier Field, but the Sun was steady, and it was maybe 80 degrees or so on the pitch.

Very nicely done. Super color.

I found it interesting regarding your FM post about Kata always seemed to look down at the the ball. It's one thing that you don't notice much while watching it on TV. :)

Awesome photos. Were these done with the 400?

Yep, these were all done with the 400. I had a CF card failure on the shots I took with my 20D/70-200 and I haven't recovered them yet.

I just got an email from another shooter who was at yesterday's game, and he asked me if I had any shots of Kaka's eyes...guess he had the same issue. While I never played soccer growing up, I did play hockey and I know skating with your head down is a sure-fire way to get NAILED...maybe it's different with soccer.

No, with soccer you need to have your head up as well...but then Kaka doesnt need to, but he is a different level of player...

often they are not techincally sound in thier play, they are just gifted...and we hate those people....LOL

great shots, but the color saturation and contrast are pushed a little too hard in these photos for my personal taste.
