Does anyone think its worth changing a 20d for a 40d. I have a 5d but cannot afford another one so is the 40d really an upgrade?:)

I bought two and tested them against the 20d and 30d's. The 40d is superior in a way that the 30d never was. I would say yes overall though if you can stand it, wait and save your $$ for the 5d used. They run about 2100 ish these days for a good one.

Best, D.

In the persuit of total contentment, Canon does not help :)

Oh yeah. The 40D is definitely worth the price of admission.

Yes, the perfect mate for the 5D to get the best of two worlds.

After I got my 5D, I hardly touch my 20D. So I would say afer satisfying your lens craving, then it's an upgrade :)

depends on how big you like your pics, at the end of the day it's the MP that will make the real difference.
If the 20D has enough MPs for you I would not upgrade but buy glass instead or save up for a FF 5D as you indicate that might be your interest;)

Depends what you are replacing the 20D for, and is the 20D only a back up, if you shoot sports on large field, and need the FPS ETC, 1-6 crop over the 5D,, then for sure 40D is a pretty big jump over 20D, but if the 20D is really only a back up and rarely gets used, than hold on to the 20D, save up a bit more, and see what the new 5D holds.
