I have put up two versions, a relatively unprocessed version, and a sepia version of the same thing. I am wondering if:
A. Are they any good at all?
B. Which one of the two is the better?
C. Suggestions to make them better

As always C&C is much appreciated. Thanks

Hmm I like these alot. There is something off though, not sure what. The second one is my fav, I really like how you did the coloring on it.

I am Henry. NOT Hank. And certainly not a length of rope tied in a knot. ;)
My family calls me Hen, but you can call me Chicken. See you out there!

Thanks Alphachicken...Believe it or not, the first one is natural color, and the second one is a sepia version of the first. I am glad you like it. Thanks for commenting :D

To be honest, neither is doing much for me. Maybe if they were brighter/sharper...not sure though.

First of all I just wanted to say what a great picture. Thanks for sharing. It's a tough decision between the two... Maybe a little more focused on the knob would be just perfect. The 2nd one reminds me a lot about WWII for some reason... You should print it out and burn the edges of the paper/film and see how it works out... That'd be so awesome. I would go with the 2nd one. Great pics!

Hey, thanks for the nice comments. I am glad that you like the pictures. I agree with you on the WWII look...they were actually taken in a prison almost 200 years old...not sure when the pipes were added...

i think it works compositionally. i agree that the whole handle mechanism could be sharper. i'd probably bring out more contrast with the pipes too. i like it.

so, it looks like you went to eastern state pen. how did you like philly?

Thanks for the comment..

Yes, made it to Eastern state pen. LOVED Philadelphia. Being from Dallas, I have always been told how terrible the place was...well I can tell you that I loved every minute of it. The food was great, the sites were great, and the people were very nice. We made it to a bunch of the places that you sugggested and they were all great. THanks again for all of your advice.

Of your suggestions we made it to Kisso, eastern state pen , Naked Chocolate , washington square, city hall, the art museum, as well as many others such as Boudacon (not sure on the spelling), and Reading Market, and the other typical tourist stuff like the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross's house, etc. Incredible visit, and am looking forward to my trip next year!!

oh cool! that's so good to hear. i'm really glad you enjoyed it here and glad i could help!

i think most of what you've heard is probably based on the whole eagles/cowboys rivalry. the fans are a bit... well, lets just call them passionate (they threw iceballs at santa, you know). but there's a definite grittiness to the city. its more obvious as you spread out from the downtown area.

i'd be interested in seeing the photos you took here. living here my entire life, i know the place inside and out and i know what i like about it. so its fun to see the city again from the eye of someone who's never been here before and seeing what they found interesting.

When I get a chance to process them, I will post some of the better ones...I think by and large, they are pretty basic, but you never know...
