Spider with a friend

So a friend of mine and I went out yesterday morning to try to fiend a horse farm to shoot early morning horses....

Well, the horses were nowhere to be found...but while walk throught the grass, we found a number of large spider webs. Upon closer inspection, we found the webmakers, and tried to get a few shots.

I really found out how badly I could use a right anglr finder...LOL

Not sure of the species, but it looks like it may have been on the wrong end of some sort of battle:

Some type of Argiope, master orb weavers, good spiders, do a lot of good for the food chain imho. The spider in the first and last shots has lost 2 legs btw

I had to laugh at the fly, that's damn cheeky!!!
