Oh I don't think your PoV is so mad...it's just a recognition that you don't need technical capacitiy that exceeds practical use...such state of the art is valuable only to those who have to have the capacity even if they never use it...people who drive Porsches that never exceed 80mph and never leave the interstate still love that ride and I can't blame 'em.
