I'll have my 40D in roughly a month!
picking it up with a 70-200mmL

My first major lens upgrade....
I've been shooting with a tamron 18-200mm....and its quality is really starting to irk me.

I'm really excited.

Switched to the "dark side" but I like these boards.
Digital: Nikon D200
Lenses: Nikkor 50 1.8D, Nikkor-P 55 macro 3.5, Nikkor 35 1.8G Nikkor 85 1.8.
Film: Canonet QL17 G-III, Bell&Howel/Canon Dial 35,

Does anyone else get the optical illusion that the camera looks smaller than the 20D? Probably due to the massive LCD.

yep that's true.

anyway the only pic I got is with me in it. I don't have my own camera to take a photo of another camera. I also don't have any mirrors either :)

I'm not sure I see the purpose of threads like this. Surely, one 40D (or whatever) is the same as all the others, so what's the purpose of photographing, let alone posting, your own one?

I for one like to see lots of shots of potential purchases. I like to do a hell of a lot of research before spending money and the more piccies the better :D

But clearly from this thread and pictures you can see what it looks like in the hand. And also the manufacturers shots are PP'ed to perfection. Its nice to see pictures of the camera in real world lighting and in real world hands.
