And it was awesome.

To say the least, the rumours of no shipments to have a fancier display are unfounded. They are shipping in November. Production is underway of sub assemblies etc and price in Canada will be astonomical of course.

The camera design is locked down. No changes. AF is a little odd for a Cf4 shooter. The option of two registered AF point with a 1Ds Mk.II is nice, I just need to dig deeper into the menu to customize it to my liking. If I buy one.

There did I see and touch and drool over it? The Vancouver Canon CPS event no less. I got to hear some great seminars on Lightroom and CS3.

It was great to listen to the seminars put on by Denis Reggie and Vincent Laforet!

I'll have a full write up of the event and what I learned tomorrow on my blog (external link). Right now, it's late and I'm beat.

No flash, dimly lit and I was super stealth in sneaking in my CF card into the camera as they were NOT cool with that when others asked.

DAMN! I'm surprised that shot was so steady!

I love the exif on the first image:

# Camera Make = Canon
# Camera Model = Canon EOS K215

So I'm glad I went to the event today. Even though I caught the end half, it was well worth it. The Lightroom/CS3 seminar was good, although the references to a "apple 30" monitor" was getting on my case. The guy from Adobe did mention that bridge was FASTER in XP than on a Mac. ;)

Vincent Laforet's keynote at the end was by far my favorite. It made me want to go out and shoot again. His slideshow of images and stories behind them were simply amazing.

I took a few shots with a 40D, and the 1Ds MK3. Both amazing cameras. What blew me away the most was trying out a 50 1.2L Lens. I've only seen that lens as a image online, and I NEVER knew it was that big. SPECIALLY the 85 1.2L. Still for my 1.3x body, I can see a 50 1.2 in the far future. What a fricken wicked lens. I think even Jason was blown away by the speed of it wide up at ISO100 in that dark room.

When I opened it in Lightroom I chuckled. JPEG only of course. RAW wouldn't open for me I'm sure.
