Chinch,
Both of my refurbs from B & H were boxed with a golden colored seal/sticker that said refurbished. The actual items were also marked the same way.. Additionally, B & H stated they were and advertised them as factory refurbished, so I am satisfied they were. Perhaps since that time they have stopped selling Canon refurbs, although I don't know that, but at one time they did.

You missed my point or perhaps i was unclear ... I've purchased "refurbished" items from B&H that are canon factory refurbs in the white boxes w/ stickers as you posted. that is not disputed.

What i'm saying is Canon refurbs are typically SOLD and MARKED as USED/10 on your receipt.

Did your B&H RECEIPT say REFURBISH or did it say USED and have a used license # on top.

HOWEVER the RECEIPT of purchase says USED not REFURB which effects your eligibility for a mack new or other extended warranty.

Just an FYI :)

Interesting point, I had never considered. My invoice says Used. though on the site was a 10, and when I called they said "Oh, it is a refurb, other than that it is new (!?)".

So how does Used/Refrbd affect your Mack Warranty?..

Whether the invoice says new, or used, it has no effect on a Mack warranty. I bought my "used" 20D from B&H and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a factory refurb. B&H was quite happy to sell me an extended 2yr Mack warranty for an extra $35. Figured it was cheap insurance. Mack does sell warranties for used gear.

Nope.

while mack sells used warranties (for 2 years) their new warranties (apply to REFURBS) are available for 3 or 5 years. so that is a drawback of B&H's refurb items.

it matters and could be a huge difference. posting misinfo on the matter only does possible buyers a disservice

Not meaning to post misinformation at all. Didn't read your original post stating the difference in warranty length between new/refurb, and used. Just stating that used warranties were also available.

So what I get from this, is that a 2 year warranty may be available, but not the extended 3/5 year warranties, as Refurbs would not be eligible. Yes?

what is interesting too (doing a quick search now) is that mack no longer shows the 2 year used warranty U233 that adorama has for $65

I did not have good luck with Adorama. I know it works for many, but I got stuck in the middle of a sour deal. Ordered overnight (before deadline of course) on a Thursday, and got the items on a Tuesday. Funny thing, the guy on the phone, instead of saying ooops, wanted to sell me a Mack warranty for my gear. MAy search other threads for Mack Warranty stories, success or waste of time.

Thanks again all for your comments.
