Off, assuming you're talking focus confirmation beep. If I'm focusing I'm looking through the viewfinder and can see the red flash - I don't need to hear it as well and I also don't need candid subjects hearing me coming ;)

Good question.

I like the reassurance of the beep and am yet to try it off...I might do so though. I'm a big fan of candids so I guess this isn't going to help.

Sorry but like usual, I need the third option 'sometimes on and sometimes off'.
I guess I use it more on than off though.

I've always had it on. Though after reading the responses here i think i may want to try it off sometime. I guess for me its always kind of been like a gunshot at the beginning of a race.

Off.
I have an aversion to cameras making any beepy noises since my fuji S5500 compact; I can understand a beep to confirm focus etc... but why - dear God why - did they decide that the thing needed to beep with every step of the motor when you used the zoom? Was it to help blind people compose a shot?!

...ahem. So yeah, due to such traumatic experiences I like my cameras to be silent of any electronic bleeps these days =)

Off - wedding official might just frown at the constant beeping.
