Dragonfly and wolf spider

First go at macro shots really, what do you think? What do you think of the crop in the one of the dragonfly? It was either that or i crop it mor tightly around the body so you can see more detail, but then I would have chopped the wings out, What do you think?

Look good- suspect the damselfly (not a dragonfly) might look better uncropped.

mmm no im pretty sure its a dragon fly, damselflies fold their wings at rest

edit: yep, dragon fly i just checked in a book, Austrogomphus prasinus, Gomphidae

The separated eyes are definitely those of a damselfly. Emerald damselflies (lestes) regularly rest with wings apart. Others do so sometimes when it's really warm as it aids temperature regulation. Gomphidae do have separated eyes unlike most dragonflies but they are still larger than those of damselflies.

What camera and lens combo are you using?
other exif data would be good also.

350d, some ol tokina AT-X 100mm f2.8 dragonfly at 1/160 f8 and spider ate 1/80 f6.3 and both with 580ex and iso 200
