Well for the next few weeks anyway, I will be living on cheap pasta - It was thrust in my hand a couple of days ago, today it was thrust into a carrier bag and came home with me !

Battery # 1 charging as we speak, have a beer in hand and will shortly be settling down to read the manual !

Beers on me, well virtual ones anyway !

I've been living on canned tuna for a couple of years now. I think I am actually losing strength because of that and can no longer hold up my investments, so be careful. :)

Enjoy... the beer and the camera.

congrats on the new camera. Maybe see if you can try just living off Fosters and top raman noodles. :)

If you could cut back to ramen and skip the booze maybe you'll be able to get some new glass in a few months. Congrats on the new purchase! I just got a 30D from an XT since the prices went down.

Maybe if I eat ramen for the next few months I'll be able to afford the 35L I've been eyeing.

Oh yeah, and did your battery really need charging? I just put mine straight in the camera, it was already well charged. :) It's been on there almost an hour now, start taking photos already.

Not sure what Ramen noodles are ? Already have sufficent glass, the 40D will house the 100-400l nicely :)

Stay away from the Albacore, Big Eye, and Yellow Fin. They are all full of mercury. Eat goldfish, it’s better.

I am living proof that Ramen and beer is a fine sustainable diet. That was my diet for the 4 years I was in school. Toss in a can of beans every once in a while for variaty and you got it.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Congratulations on the camera. As for the initial battery charge, it is true that its charged, however it won't last nearly as long as a battery that is <truly> charged. When I got my 40D last weekend, I used it for about a full evening and depleted that stock battery, which had read fully charged. When I popped in my second battery that I actually did charge on the charger, it also registered as fully charged, and still does after 3 full days of use.

I am never impatient with batteries, not sure if it is still the case but they used to have memories, both now fully charged ready for the Westmorland County show tomorrow http://www.westmorland-county-show.co.uk/ (external link) sadly the country has just been hit by another outbreak of Foot and Mouth in cattle so it will be horses for me !

Tour of Britain finishes a stage in my town on Friday and that evening is the towns 'Torchlight Carnival' I have a couple of days off work so should be having some fun, initial impressions are lovely, far superior to the 400D which I bought about 8 weeks ago :(

Ramen Noodles are what college students live off in the United States:

You can buy a package of six servings for less than $1.

And with all the great beer choices in the U.K., why are you drinking Fosters? (no sleight to my Australian friends, of course!)
