I agree. The lens and the skill involved are more important than the camera. Any of the shots posted so far could have been taken on a 20D or 30D - or many others for that matter.

this is not a scientific experiment - i don't have a control group - its a piss take..

having read all the other threads here saying how this compares to this and that... with every fault under the sun in the control and execution of the experiments - i deiced to have a bit of fun..

if you would like me to compare two bodies that should be identical - i will

i will use the same lens - the same subject - the same lighting - the same cf card - the same PC to upload. i will also repeat the experiment 50 times under different conditions to give a better over view of the two bodies. OR we can just have a bit of fun and enjoy our hobbies / professions.

as for they could have been taken with any body - then so be it - if people choose to be dishonest then they are only cheating themselves.

this may very well be true - but let me just say - after a year with the 350D, I'm getting more keepers with the 40D - same lens, etc. And my skill (or lack thereof) didn't mystically change the day I received my 40D.

Exactly! Whoever interprets it otherwise does so as their own interpretation. I figured the intent of this thread was to have a little fun and show off some great 40D shots instead of saying "which camera is better" because in the end, it's what you're happy with. Case in point: you could hand me a 1DMk2 and I would not be happy. Proof? I just sold one and like the 40D better :o

Enough soapboxing.. let's see some pictures :)

I notice that I have the same number of keepers with my 400D as my 5D.....but I do admit that I find myself doing a lot more manual adjustments with the 400D. I believe in really evaluating the exposures and "tonal zones" at shot #1 so that I can be sure all my photos will have good exposure. So maybe a beginner might have better luck with a 30D/40D over a 350D/400D if they aren't thinking about exposure as they're shooting.

As for 40D vs 40D: well it's just obvious which one is better with color and noise control!!!:lol: Kudos to an entertaining thread Nzshrimper!

Although truth be told they're not above anything a 30D (or even 300D) would be able to produce.

Just saying, not trying to rain on anyone's parade. =)

That's exactly what I was trying to point out in my earlier post.
