Hey friends,

got the 40d in and I am having trouble shooting more than 6 frams in a burst with raw, jpeg small or large, f/stop and iso speed. I have tried switching the lens out and I eve reset the user settings. I have tried with my Ultra II and Extreme III cards and I have tried without any card.

Shouldn't I beable to shoot at 6.5fps for more 6 frames? I the veiwfinder reading always says i have 6 frames left in the buffer

Let me know if you have any suggestions!!

Rian

Well I figured it out. Looks like I didn't actually reset all the settings in the camera. Things are working better now. I am guessing it had something to do with ISO noise reduction:)

Cheers!

Ah, yeah, manual says something like, "maximum burst will greatly decrease..."

But down to 6!?

Greatly, indeed.

Nah, but if you ask me, reducing the things you have to do in post is a good thing. ;)

Yeah ISO NR scared me too until I figured out what was going on. You can always do it in post, the camera's giving you an option to do it on board if you can't, for some reason, do it in post.

If you are simply taking single shots and not using the buffer, it's a good way to go.

One of the nicest things about the 40D is that they display your ENTIRE buffer, not just a "9" digit and leaving you to guess how many frames you have left.
