I think what i don't like about the first ones is that they are all shot from above and I don't like the angle. I like it better shot like Sebastien showed, on level with the rings. If that makes sense.

Of the first ones, I do like the selective coloring but I agree that the diamond needs to be sharply in focus for whichever one you pick.

since they are your rings, i would take some of your own again where the diamonds are in focus. i tried playing with a couple of them but no matter what i did, they don't look right because of the big diamond being so soft.

Focus is no problem with some PP. If I selectively colour the rings I'll get flamed by all the pros! :p

The shot was taken further back and I've cropped it down. Thanks for your comments.

I am a fan of selectively coloring when used to make a photo more dramatic. I think it will work for the rings photo and the old lock...give it a try...just douse the pros with cold water if they flame you

LOL. Gotchya.

And the focus of the larger diamond is easy to fix so it's not the issue. it's more the composition of the shot.

I think I'll use the seashell as a page background and then inlay the lock with rings. it looks quite nice done like that.

I think they are all a bit busy, the attention is not directly on the rings. But out of the ones shows I would say the first one

I would say the same But the shell could do with being a different colour :)

I love the selective colour edit an di also really like the image with the sehlls, but being of similar colour is a bit of an issue. Why not do a desaturation so the colours are muted in the shell and keep the rings at full colour. Even if you do use as a background image.

I checked these pics out at the very beginning...and even now, I still have issues with the busy backgrounds... The positive suggestions sound real good... I'm with them... Cheers...

I am being paid by my client. I create work that they will like and more importantly, purchase. They are the only people I try to please..........
