Went out on 9/11 with two shooting buddies. One shooting a Canon and the other shooting a Blad and a Leica M6, both with Tri-X. Here are some of my captures:

The guy with the Canon is the guy who built Half-Lime (worlds best photo sharing site), here's his processed pics:

The guy with the Blad should be done developing and printing his pics (he only shot 1.5 rolls of Tri-X in total between the two cameras) this weekend and I'll see if I can get him to put some online. Thanks for looking.

I like the first one on your halflime page, and the last one here. I am fairly jealous, i love that city. What time was your first shot on halflime?

Sunset was 7:12 - so I figure this was between 7:15 and 7:30. When I get home tonight I'll check the EXIF data.

Scott and Kenny - thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, I can't use the picture for anything but the web. The best position and cloud coverage we had all night was from Staten Island where I took that third shot and about 20 others, but every one shows too much motion blur. In Brooklyn (shot 1), the cloud coverage prevented us from getting any good "beams". We were ready to pack it up and head home at 8:30, frustrated at the clouds ... so we took a cab back into Manhattan and decided to shoot the base of the lights (shot 2) before heading home. We got out of the cab, looked up, and realized the heavens had parted ... so we jumped on the Staten Island Ferry and shot the rest from Staten Island (shot 3). All in all, we stopped shooting around midnight.

I blundered on a couple of fronts. should have rented or borrowed a better tripod than my $100 wonder, should have turned my self-timer up to 10-seconds instead of leaving it on 3 seconds or bit the bullet and gotten a remote or shutter cable, and I should have used mirror lockup. This was my first serious attempt at landscape photography and I learned two things:

I need more money
Landscape shooting just isn't my cup-o-tea
