Didn't really know where else to put this, but Led Zeppelin are to play in November in London for the first time together in 19 years. When the site went up yesterday more than 25 million fans tried to get tickets! It's not first come first served but the tickets will be given out lottery style. What are the chances... http://www.ledzeppelin.com/ (external link)

I'm afraid twice seeing them in concert will have to be enough for me - I'm on the other side of the pond, and I hear ticket prices are outrageous. By the time the scalpers get them they will be through the roof.

Ironically, as I type this XM (Deep Tracks) is playing "Black Dog." :D

Have Fun,

Rick

Yes I am a Led Zeppelin Fan, however, when they played at Live Aid, Robert Plant had forgotten the words to Stairway To Heaven. How many others has he forgotten by now?
For Gods sake I hope they rehearse.
I would love to go see them, even if I got tickets from the lottery. But the airfare would be prohibitive in of itself.

I think the tickets will be £145 when those lucky few who are chosen can buy them. Pricey but it's not bad considering their status. I've entered the draw and holding thumbs

these types of dewy-eyed nostalgia acts usually go horribly wrong, esp when one considers the staggering amount of $ involved...forget it, not worth it in the slightest.

now, i could be tagged a bit of a hypocrite as i just forked over $340 for 2 neil young tickets, but there are a couple of key differences:

1 - the place he's playing is pretty small (2.5K)
2 - he's got a full band (i've seen him @ the Orpheum twice, but just solo)
3 - he's still on his game.

the last one is the most crucial. neil has never stopped recording good songs (well, at least sorta good), and tours consistently.

that's way more than you could say about van halen w/ DLR, the police, the eagles, etc - all those other classic rock dinosaurs for whom it's just a naked cash grab.

I love Led Zep! Timeless bands that I put in the same category as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc.
