I was wrong-I do need UV filters..advice please

IMHO UV filters are required for freezing environments and transportation, but not much else. In freezing weather, even withthe lens cap on, you will get condensation and ice on your front lens element if you don't have a filter. That's not fun to clean off when it's 5 AM , freezing cold and a bull moose is out in the meadow......

Hoya UV filter (multi coated) or a Hoya protect filter (also available at Canon) and get a lenspen and a rocket blower.:)
