Yes, my theory is that the shims come in varying thicknesses at the factory to allow proper calibration of the focusing screen - I'm just dissapointed with the loose QC tolerances on this one, and even more surprised that removing the shim altogether 'fixed' my problem... Andre B :: gearlist
