You either paid more than most or bought some accessories.

Rounded off, rounded up and with an extra battery, etc. etc.

How did you do that Kenny? If it's under warranty, isn't it covered?

See above. I'm not really sure because I don't know exactly when it happened and as I said it's not that noticeable. :)

My cover on the XT is broken and I got this recommendation at DPreview:

Shouldn't be much more than that $16 for yours...

Thanks!

It's pretty much a love-hate relationship depending on the moment. :)

Murphy's law... just keep complaining and the shutter will die at 8k, bit more and the battery will explode... ;)

maybe this time you send it in it'll have the legendary electronic adjustment

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I bought one of these for my Smartphone, the demo videos show them as just about indestructible. My LCD is already scratched a little, so I'm gonna wait until I get a new 40D before I order a screen protector for my LCD.

$10 is worth the trouble of sending in your camera or having to take apart

I've tried, they didn't do it, I tried getting a swap, they wouldn't do it. I tried getting a refund, they wouldn't do it....

KAC,
Your Mark III will not focus properly. MY Mark III has the same issue plus I had a dirty Mark III sensor out of box
Also, you did not have one of those moments when you accidentally touched your Mark III sensor with tip of air blower like I did last week.
Frotunately, I live only 1 hour from Irvine and they got rid of the smudge with sensor cleaning.
That could be a $1,400 rapair bill on a over 1 month old Mark III;)

Just hope this firmware 1.1.1 will fix the problem or I need to get another camera:cry:
PS I will go to Irvine this afternoon to pick up 24-105, so I will find out if firmware 1.1.1.

The best zoom lens is two steps forward, and the best wide angle lens is two steps backward.

when I cracked my LCD cover on my 30d it was very very easy. Call Canon parts. I think this is the #(732) 521-7230 for USA.

call up and tell them you want the cover and the double sided tape that is precut. Pull off the cover I super glued a bottle cap to the screen. make sure you get all the sticky tape out of the body. Very carefully place the new tape on the cover. blow out the LCD compartment with a bulb blower. pop that sucker back in and your good to go.

I was planning on doing a tutorial on how to do it but I was running to catch a plane to Africa a few hours after I finished so I didn't have time.

took me about 5 minutes to swap it out.
