You can only MF in Live View, which is pretty dumb. But I put Live View to work yesterday, so it is useful.

I am sure you can use AF with Live view, it is in the settings somewhere.

heh well done, by time he got to 108 frames he looked like he was fit to drop

and I always where my shin pads inside my socks :)

Anyhow still maintain the biggest improvement is AF and tracking on the 40D over 30D and lower

Thanks to the 6.5 frames per sec., I shot over 800 frames of my dog chasing a stick in a single afternoon! NICE!

I love my wife, I would not trade her for anyone on the planet. This is the conversation we had last night:
Me: Take a look at this. (shows clip)
her: is that the camera your getting?
Me: yup.
her: Looks pretty good, when you getting it? Maybe we should stop at Best buy and see if they have one in.

How does she know the exact right thing to say. :)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

That is what I noticed, but I put it in a more modest way by saying "at least two".

To clear up any confusion, I didn't take these shots. Just posted a link for those interested in the 40D AF performance. Thanks.

Maybe it might be my tired old 34 year old eyes telling me otherwise, but I only see one shot out of that entire series that's obviously totally OOF, and not "a few that look very backfocused". I'm looking at these frame by frame. And even if one, two or maybe even three are slightly OOF, I would say that this camera does a damn fine job considering it's maybe 3 out of 54 shots that look slightly OOF.
