Not to insult your intelligence, but are you expecting to see ISO 3200 displayed or "H"?

What would that have to do with it? Will expanded ISO not work with HP on?

Native sensitivity of the sensor.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

Roger. Got it. Snir's (blonde's) solution seems the most reasonable then.

that would be my guess, in fact I think this problem is going to pop up a lot.

I just don't understand what HP does?

pretty much what it does is underexpose to prevent blown highlights. in my own opinion, you can get the exact same thing by over exposing and than manipulating the image in PP but that is beside the point.

no. If iso100 wasn't a native sensitivity of the sensor, then Canon would put iso100 as L enabled only by custom functions. If iso 100 is "fake" and is a pulled exposure, the camera could not perform 6.5 fps at iso100 do to the extra processing needed to be done as the image is recorded.

I'm not sure I completely follow your post. My 1DMIIN certainly has no problem with high shutter speeds in either L or H mode.

It's digital. They're all 'fake'.
