What is it you're trying to achieve with your posts?

???

I like the idea of this shot, could work in B&W with more contrast.

What idea? Dude, I do not follow what it is you're looking at in some of these. I seriously could take any camera, a box camera from the drug store, walk outside and pull the trigger and you would say, nice idea. Help me here, chicken.

Sorry, Yosef. No disrespect intended. I want to help. I'm just not sure what you're type of help you're looking for.

You know, the quaint little countryside roads that you see in old European towns. They are portrayed alot and the effect is quite affecting. ;-)a

Equipment has no bearing here. The photo is a snapshot whether taken with a disposable camera or the latest $10,000 digital. There is no story, it's not really abstract or artistic, just a shot of a street with buildings and cars.

Yosef, when you compose an image in your viewfinder, try to think of what you are trying to tell the viewer with your image. What emotion are you trying to evoke? This will help you to select and compose the image before you click the shutter.

i think if it were cropped closer to the old house and the car to the left it would be a much better shot.

... still has the old feel but would be more of a picture then a snapshot looking image

...And then moderators go to the wedding forum to say wedding photogs there are too blunt

But in all honesty I have to agree with seesponge. This just looks like a random snapshot. I think Yosef has to make a better effort to improve his photos... :)

I understood that picture/photo need to tell a viewer some story. I'll take it in mind. Thanks. About composition - the picture was taken "from side". I think it's not very good in this case. Are there some rules when to take "from side" and when "in front of" ?

He's saying that the moderators in the wedding forums are much more sensitive and are less tolerant of direct criticism. I say that people don't learn anything from generic comments and niceties — unless it's merited. In this case, there was little to say, I'm afraid. And the fact that the OP has yet to respond, makes me feel as if all of this was a big waste of time.

Yosef- get closer to the house. and try and leave as many of the cars and power lines out of it as possible.

i like the house, and i think there is potential.. if you get closer, and make sure your lighting is good.

hugs.
shannon
