My friend Laura just got engaged and I asked her to stop by after her JCPenney's engagement shoot so I could take a few of her and her fiance. C&C welcome and appreciated. This is my first engagement shoot and would love the feedback.

Just one more. I'm really not sure how I feel about this one...

I like #3 and the last one best in the series. #1 just makes me feel awkward. #3 could've used a little flash fill but overall not too bad.

Hi Stacie,

Really good colors and good variation of shots.

A couple of other comments:

1. If the pose doesn't look comfortable, the picture wont work. For me this picture doesn't work. If you ever tried doing what he is doing...it hurts. But it makes a good spinal stretch :-)

2. Doesn't work in isolation. If you hadn't seen the previous picture, you would understand how you got the hands and bodies in this strange position. But as they are pic 1 & 2 together it works ok.

3. No this is a great shot with 2 sincere smiles. To much space around the head though. The background adds little. So crop it out.

4. Fantastic picture. I am going to remember this pose. It looks so natural. Great framing. You did a great job with the lighting.

5. As above.

6. Another great shot. Just a little to much head room.

7. Wow! Thats a beautiful shot. The comp is great. My favorite! I would just brighter it a little.

8. You are on a roll. Keep shooting. Beautiful. Your exposure is great. You get that burst of light in the trees and still manage to have a well exposed couple.

I would lose picture 1. Without it, it is such a powerful shoot. Be proud!

There are a lot of nice shots in there. In general, the composition needs some work though. It looks too central overall, except 7. Your cropping is also tight for all of them, so maybe vary it up a bit... throw a couple wides in there too. Also, get them to engage each other more... like playing with each other... laughing, having a good time etc...

JCPenny shoot? huh? Am I missing something here? Do they do engagment shoots too?

They just did a couple of portraits; I took them outside.

http://www.staciecmorris.com …raDave/content/index.html (external link) has all 40 pictures that I gave the couple. It shows them playing on a swing set and walking, but I wasn't sure how I liked them. Any C&C would be appreciated.
