I just picked up a Stofen diffuser for my 580EX II - the instruction says for 580EX II stretch the long sides of the diffuser and push toward flash head...

Man I tried that for a bit and it became so tight that the weather seal on the sides of the flash head started to look like it was gonna rip off...

Anyone else have this issue? I picked this diffuser up from Henry's a reputatable camera store in Canada so I pretty sure its not some fake.

yeah I have the same problem with it but it will fit. You just need to wiggle it in and it's very snug. I even thought about shaving a bit of the sides off to accommodate the rubber grip on the side of the flash.

Had the same problem as you, very very tight fit! I took a dremel tool to the inside of mine, used the circular stone looking tool to it. Fits great now....

Mine slips right on, are you making sure that the hump on the diffuser is on the top of the flash it only fits one way. Slips on like a glove. Never had issues of it popping off at all. Yeah it is a snug fit but i only slip mine on about a 1/4" over the flash. Got mine from Canoga Camera

Don't onw a 580EX so i wouldn't know, but the one i have slip in snug but not too snug to were the rubber inserts on the sides get distorted.
