extra support for camera to tripod

I remember seeing this added part that is basically a monopod with somesort of head on it that clamps to a leg on a tripod and screws to the bottom of hte camera giving it extra support. I thought manfrotto made it but i just searched there site and b&h and can't find it.

Does anyone know who makes it? And is it decent investment for those really windy days?

Huh? Not really sure what you mean. It goes from the ballhead to the leg?

I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to describe unless it might be a device that would connect to a lens' tripod ring while the body is connected to the tripod's head. Even that is just a wild-a.. guess. Can you be a little more specific in what you are looking for and how it might have worked?

Thank you Jon, I dont know how I missed it. I was going nuts looking thru all my old popphoto/shutterbug/ou​tdoor photog mags. I know i saw it in them. I saw a non manfrotto one and the manfrotto one.

Now here's the question, does anyone actually use one?

I do. Even knowing that Manfrotto made one, I had to go to the PDF of the Manfrotto catalog to find the part number, and then when I tried searching for either the model number or the name at B&H it didn't show up. ISTR I narrowed things down as tight as I could and sorted by price to come up with that. They really must not want you to buy them!
