I can see it now - I've swapped my PC for a MAC and changed my colour profile... :-)

I quite like this, but what spoils it for me is the quality of the background blur (bokeh)

In Defense of the Apple ...

I actually like it! The misunderstood apple.

The scratches and other spots symbolize the difficult perilous and unforgiving life that an apple faces. The extreme latitude of colors speak of the gentle nature of apples and the great acceptance and respect that apples have for all other life forms. The dust symbolizes the apple's journey down the road less traveled in life. The bright light in the background represents the final destination -- the light at the end of the tunnel where the full meaning of life is revealed. The shadowy figures in the background are the souls of all the apples that met an untimely fate at the gnashing maws of ravenous herbivores.

One of my earliest picture on my XTi was of an apple sitting on the kitchen counter. I showed a print of the picture to my wife and said, "see that apple in the picture? It doesn't exist!" She replied, "Oh, you artists ... everything is so ethereal." Maybe, but memories of it will remain with me.
