Yes - finally took the new 1D Mark IIn out into the backyard in anger. Mounted up the flash bracket, flash etc + Brian's Coca Cola diffuser. I'm stoked with the results. The IQ of the 1D Mark IIn is far better than either of my older cameras, the noise is far better. WB seems more accurate as well to boot. These are my best hoverfly shots yet, much better lighting I feel (thanks Brian). 1:1 shot and obligatory crop. The 1D Mark IIn retains pretty good detail, even after cropping, again much better than either of my previous cameras.

Thanks to my parents for being really kind and lending me the money to get the 1D Mark IIn :)

Dave

Very nice captures! The colors and details are fantastic.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm just so happy with this new camera, it's a HUGE step up in quality from earlier Canon's! If I can start getting my lighting better and improve my composition, I'll be even more happier. Of course, roll on the bugs in Summer!
