Gaithersburg Festival

Rode over to check out the festival and ended up with a bunch of useless images. Here is the only one I liked. This old fellow was working his way up the street and I snapped a few shots as he walked by. The clenched left fist tells the story.

I think the black and white works but it made his face and chest area rather dark. It also made his hat very light which distracts from his face. You can try to adjust the levels a bit, that would help alot. Otherwise I think it's a nice photo and the crop looks fine to me

I think this could be a great shot, but the cropping/composition is not working for me as it currently is.

Ken, how would you crop. I also thought of just cropping real tight on the head.

Well as you pointed out the clinched fist is the main thing here, what bugged me was that his right elbow/arm were cropped off.

I immediately felt for the old guy. Some shots are more about the story than the technicalities.

Hi neighbor; this was the Gaithersburg Days festival held every year. They block off Summit and about three blocks of Rt. 124 in the heart of Old Town and have bands, vendors, etc. Not a lot of photo-ops though.

Yes, I could see that he was determined to walk up the street regardless of the effort. I immediately admired the drive that this fellow had.
