I have been wanting to step to a d-slr since before the 20d came out, I waited I was about to buy and deceided to wait to see what the 30d offered was not too impressed so I deceided to see if canon would offer image stabilazation in body on the next release, once I read about the 40d I decieded to go ahead and purchase it.

localy $1300 body only was the cheapest I could find, but not in stock

I was somewhat rushed when I purchased it noone localy had it or was going to be getting any in and I hava a vacation coming up in a week.

So I bought a camera package on ebay. when I ordered it The salesman asked me why I didn't get the package with the digital lenses, I just blew him off as he was trying to get me to upgrade to a more pricier package. The package he offered had 2 less lenses and cost $500 more, the package comes with all canon lenses.

He said with the lenses in my kit auto focus won't work and I can only take 1 pic very 3 secs no burst (which I like to do). thought I could atleast sell the lenses after the cruise and get 1 good lens and start my collection.

What exactly is a digital lens is there such a thing.

and yes I am going to read the stickies next.

my package

No Canon lens limits the burst mode of any Canon camera. He's feeding you lies in that regard if it's a Canon lens. Nor do any good-quality non-Canon lenses (Sigma, Tamron etc.).

Also, if he's selling you a Canon lens where the autofocus doesn't work I'd be very suspicious. Any EF or EF-S lens should have its autofocus working when purchased new!

Edit: Ah, I misread - you've already bought from him. Sounds like you did the right thing by not "upgrading" from the kit lens he's offering!

Do you actually have this camera in hand? If not be prepared to not get it. The sale tactics (you were handed some blatant lies pushing an "upsell" to cheap knockoff lenses) is part and parcel the way the rip-off guys operate.

Personally I would refuse to do business with this outfit, they are dishonest. In any case, since you declined to bite on their rip-off offer, their next step will presumably be to never ship the camera.

Also FYI, that kit is three lenses.... the 18-55, 28-105 and the 75-300. I'm not a big fan of the 75-300 and the other two overlap so much that there is no great reason to own them both. That wide angle adapter thing is likely to be useless.
Good luck.

Sadly...

You appear to be the victim of a double whammy...

First, it is obvious that you were dealing with an unscrupulous dealer. It sounds like the general practice of several dealers on eBay (or one dealer selling under several names) based in Brooklyn, NY and is generally a bait and switch. type operation. Often when you don't fall for the switch part of the scam, you either never get the item or get it only after a long and involved hassle.

Second, you purchased a rather expensive item without doing your homework

Even if you get the setup which you ordered, the camera should be far superior to the optics that you purchased. The general consensus is that to get the best image quality and bang for your buck, buy the best glass possible even at the expense of getting a slightly less capable camera such as the 400d or the 30D.

By the way, be sure to post the name of the dealer with a full story about your purchase.

Call your credit card company and put a stop on the order NOW. Then call the "company" and tell them you are cancelling the order. You've been bitten by a scam operator and you don't want to allow them to chew you any more.

If you bought the "kit" that's in the link with all the no-name junk that's part of the kit, you were getting ripped off big-time in the first place.

Buy only from well-known reliable on-line outfits such as B&H and Adorama or local stores that you can physically visit.
