what is so great about those photos?? (i am not talking about the subject or composition here (they are great photos) but about the Image quality). I cannot see anything breathtaking here ... am i missing something?

I am not a pixle peeper and to be honest my eyes cannot see a great difference in image quality over my 20d but it did seem easier to get exposure right. The metering seems to work better. When i took that first shot I looked at LCD expecting to see blinkies in the sky like I ususally do but there weren't any. In fact, I didn't get any blinkies that day. I didn't have highlight priority turned on either.

The images are bigger. You can crop more. That pic with the ants is a 50% crop.

This is a 100% crop of the flower picture..
