I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Here's a few shots with crops i took at 1600 & 3200 no post processing was done and no noise reduction or sharpening either. All pics are converted from RAW with ACR 4.2 with all sharpening and noise reduction set to zero........

SCEJAS-

Check out the study I did at the URL below, I have plenty of low-level high-ISO shots comparing the 30D and 40D.. you can even download them and view them for yourself:

https://photography-on-the.net …376858&highlight=sadowsk2

Bottom line: I recommend opting for the 30D at the reduced price or, for superior ISO (and assuming you have the cash) the 5D. The 40D just didn't get quite the level of enhancement I was hoping/expecting...

So... if this is the same as the 30D thats means it must be the same as the 20D correct? Since the 30d sensor is the 20d's sensor......

Is this right?

the 40d seems just a little more saturated with colors than the 20d. I know a guy with the Mark III and he says the same thing him self. As far as more differences...noise, it's still good, but the thing is it could be better, but hey, Im not processing film or buying film, it can't be anyworse than Nikon.

I'm processing some pic now, but I think the differences show up in dark situations, I'll post something when I have the processing done. I just finished shooting a local Salsa band the other night at ISO 3200 and I'm suprised how well they turned out. They do have noise (of course) but are better than what I used to get with my old 20D. Just my opinion.

ACDCROCKS (nice name by the way) I do agree with the color saturation comment, I also seem to see better gradation from color to color.

I don't believe that any crop format DSLR on the market today has better low light capability than the 40D. And as already mentioned the 20D and 30D are close enough to be considered identical to the 40D as far as noise goes.
