Do you like the 2nd one Amanda? The red spot keeps bugging me. lol. I'll leave it though since nobody else thinks it matters.

I haven't put them up yet. I have had some major set backs today. I am behind on a lot of things. I had to do a bunch of report card things for the kids at the school today which took me all night last night and half this morning because I messed a lot of them up by accidentally having the wrong spreadsheet in excel so it was a pain. I am working on them as fast as I can though.

I'd probably use a mask and try to work with that red spot, too. It's not horrible, but I'm not sure it adds anything, either.

I like the second one.

Is this an action in PS or a preset in Lightroom?

Here are a couple from my experiments today...nothing magical (not like Jared's are anyways) but I was trying to black out the back ground, which I accomplished so I am happy for the most part. I took the photos at about 4 pm local (CDT) so the room was actually pretty well lit. All shots straight from camera...like I said, many more steps on this journey :)

Little dark, but still decent I think.

Ben, I like the 2nd one a lot.

Amanda, yes I hate it when jobs get in the way. I am not a regular school teacher so I don't work with specific grades. I work with kids who have disabilities and learning disorders but I don't teach them scholastics. I am a psychologist/teacher. I work with developing them into healthy minded adolescents. But, I also have a couple teenagers. I am on call 24/7 and get called at random times to do house calls too. I don't have to work everyday but I do have to do report cards every week. And it is such a rewarding job. I work with their mental stability, their progress in socialization, eratic behaviors, etc.

Kristin, I do not remember where I got the lomo action from. I stumbled across it a few days ago and haven't used it until now but it's a photoshop action, not lightroom.

Ben, looks like a good job to me! I've never experimented with lighting at all, and I'm really looking forward to doing some when I can afford the equipment. Were the first two taken in the same place as the third?

I'd say yes because the brownish orange wall is in all 3 pics. ;-)a

Karena, I really like the 2nd one! Better than the first even, I'll have to check out the lomo action, where did you pick yours up?

Amanda, yeah having a decent size dog in the middle of the city can be a bit tough on the dog. We have a tiny dog (actually the smallest that I would still consider a "dog" ) that is a about 12 pounds or so...and every ounce is filled with mischief..at least she doesn't cause much damage though, not like a larger dog could.

Sounds similar to what one of my sisters does. she's a CYW, but didn't want to back to working in group homes after mat leave because of the overnights, so she just started working for the school board this month. She would like to work mainly with "behavioural problems" but right now is working with people with mental disabiliites. It's a shame, but she said that a lot of the EAs refuse to work with the behavioural problem kids, so she should probably be able to move into that soon.

I was more referencing his "style", but yeah, I knew he cheated :)

I don't remember where I got the lomo action. It was a free one I found on some free action site. I found it in a thread here somewhere. It definitely does not work with every picture but looks good on a few.

I guess ya'll must like it a lot if you all want to know where to get it from.

Hold on. I will try to find out where I got it from.
