I don't think that'll get approved...

I think submitting the form would also have them review my internet usage.

There is a photo contest at National Geographic with the 5D as the grand prize. I'm submitting for the People section. Anyone else interested? I can use another 5D :)

That's awesome. I'm going to check that out. Not that I think I'll win, but I need something fun to do. Working for NG would be such a dream job. Not even as a photographer necessarily. I'd love to do anything with them. I love National Geographic.

The latest issue had some very sad stories in it. The photos were so sad, and I was eating breakfast. I couldn't choke down the cereal after a few pages. So amazing how powerful a picture can be. Yes, dream job in most respects, but the world is a beautiful, awful place.

My subscription ran out so I need to go buy the latest issue from the store becuase I don't think it will come, unless they are really quick to process my renewal. What was the article?

Morning Bryan..

heres a questions for everyone

I noticed Jamie's response for reception photos and his mention he likes to get up and personal...

so..how do you feel about standing in the people's way? do you stand to the side, rush in take the shot, go back to your spot, or do you stand in the way of people's view?

I'm a dance machine! I get right there on the dance floor and dance with everyone. People laugh at me, then they forget I'm there. (Obviously this doesn't apply to first dance/parent dances/close up and personal couple dances since I don't have a partner to dance with...usually).

I find that if I stand back with a zoomier lens when the dance floor is hopping, then people step in my way and i don't get the shots. So i wade right in with a wide angle. Act like you are having fun with it and people won't feel like you're intrusive - they'll think it's cool that the photographer is joining in the fun!

Hey Jamie, what about those toast shots? You right up there in front of everyone?

Toast shots are with the 70-200. I usually try to position myself off to the side a bit so that I can get both the toaster and the toastee, but not interfere with anyone's view of them. As much as I'd like to think that it is, it's not the "Jamie" show...
