It wasn't that far away, a few feet maybe? I used my 70-200 f/4 IS on that day mostly. It was at the Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR. It's pretty huge.
Terri used to work there. Just a bit of trivia.

With the kitties
Lions, tigers and cheetas to be exact. Here is a tip: when confronting Cheetas, or just hanging out with them, always remain taller than they are. They tend to be very shy animals and as long as you loom over them, generally won't try to eat you.

Mike's link to the Cthulhu reminded me of this shot I took (seeing if I can attach the image using the codes)
This stuff is growing in a hot spring run ofF and had very cool movement in the water current.
OoooOooOo...at first glance I thought it was a Painting-with-lens shot!
