I don't know if I've ever shared this story, but when my son was in Kindergarten, he lead a rebellion. The teacher, who was fresh from school herself and full of keen ideas, had the kids do something that Andrew just did not want to do. Neither did the other kids, but Andrew took it one step further. When the hated activity was to start, Andrew sat back at his table and said that he didn't want to do it, that it was stupid. Soon, half the class was sitting with Andrew, not participating. The teacher was flummoxed. She didn't know what to do. She had lost control of the class to a five year old.

Obviously, Andrew was in trouble, but we didn't have much confidence in the teacher either.

Secretly, I thought it was hilarious.

One of the most hit, non work site accessed by our people is e-bay. I guess everyone is running a second business

We don't seem to have much of a problem with ebay - mind you, most of the computers are in the open and overlooked. It seems to be horoscopes, general news and sometimes holiday booking. The block will only be for the busiest part of the day , when really there should be no internet use on the affected computers anyway... Managers computers will be able to be used on request if something urgent is needed.

Apologies, but you don't wanna do that. Those pop ups are there to safeguard you. If you turn them off and some malware comes along to make changes to your system, then it'll happen without you knowing about it.

I'd much rather click "OK" a few times than have something happen without me know it.

But then that's just me.

Yeah - that's why I have my browser set to ask before accepting cookies. That way I can decide and hopefully cut out the advertising and tracking cookies.

Apparently every Australian supports two rugby teams, that is Australia and whoever happens to be playing New Zealand.

Sounds about right, Neil. It's like Manchester United in football. If you don't support Man U, you support your own team and whoever's playing Man U.

I went on holiday and visited Turkey shortly after Galatasarai (sp?) had knocked Man U out of a European competition. The guide was saying that he was dreading the next english tour he had to do - but all the holiday makers came on chanting for Galatasarai

Not bad. I'm doing a week long course on C# next week, I'll be the lead developer in my current project in a couple of weeks time, and I'll be sent out to work in Switzerland in a couple of months.

Gaaa. Shame about the course, Pete. No doubt you'll have some spare time to get out and about with the camera in Switzerland though, won't you?
