 I want a press pass and to come with you, k? :D

Becky N wrote in post #4028775 (external link)
I wanna come, please, please, please? Oh yeah, I'm 800 miles away and have my own shoots tomorrow. Have a great time Zane, did you get a pass for Leyla too? Is she enjoying her DSLR?

Come on up I could get you closer than the average person it would be a blast:D

Leyla enjoys her new camera but we have not been shooting as of late. She, like a true equestrian, will be riding tomorrow while I am off shooting ponies.

Are any of the shots on that site yours?

No mostly Isabelle Kurick"s and Elizabeth Fenwick both people with ties to racing and the Steeplechase Organization.

What kind of conferences and is anyone else going to share the drive? Also, text messaging is a great way to stay awake during conferences and sale meetings...at least that is what I've heard...from a friend of a friend of my 4th cousin...

LOL! Marian will be going with me, but it's a group of about 18 or so. I'm not driving (Thank goodness!) It's a religious educator's conference. I'm looking forward to it, because teaching 25+ 4th graders is MUCH harder than I expected. *sigh*

ROFL! I went out shooting the other day with the 30D and the Elan. Both slung over my shoulder.
I can't tell you how many times I got them mixed up.

I had to re-learn how to set the Rebel. What was nice was Tammy gave me the wide angle of our other lens Tammy on the Rebel. I was looking for things I thought would be good in B&W we'll see if I had any eye for it at all.

We use a MotoPhoto lab in Rockford a lot. They know us well, think I'll take the roll over there. They know to ask before doing any adjustments. Most of the shots I took I also took with the 30D so except for the range, I can always do a B&W conversion on the 'puter and play with the saturation etc. if I don't like what is on the film.

I lightened your foreground and the upper left corner, increased contrast in the sky, and ever so slightly pushed your yellows over towards red for the glow. :)

I would have liked to lightened only the foreground a bit, but do not know how to do this without the whole photo being lightened, then the clouds start to look blown out. How is this done?

Hate to split hairs, but what famous image is this imitating?

C'mon Mike, come clean. You do like to split hairs. :)
I was wondering his logic on that too, maybe he was not aware of how things work.

Ya know, if it weren't for the 14 hour drive, one way, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I'm having a hard time, because I expect them all to be like Tevin. They aren't.

I'm considering passing out 'happy brownies' at the start of every class.

Never in my life have I been around so many kids who are so dependent on their daily dose of Ritalin.

Wait until they start snorting it for that extra special buzz;):( Sorry I will be quiet everyone return to normal.

Jim I like Athena's foreground but for me I like the cold blue look compared to the peachy purple. I am not saying the other edits are not pretty but I prefer the cold.
