I am so so sorry Lonnie:cry: I know what you are feeling and it is a crappy place to be. The most important thing to remember is you did her right. She did cool things many people have never done. Another great thing is you immortalized her. She will be roaming your brain until the day you die and floating the internet for who knows how long. I am sure many people seeing you guys hiking have snapped a picture and those pictures will be in files and scrap books passed down for generations. Not to mention the memory of her ingrained in peoples memories. You have given her eternal life in that respect. It was a pleasure to know her through your stories and pictures. She will be missed. You did her right and thats what counts.

So sorry to hear about Ashely, Lonnie.

You gave that dog a damned fine life. You were truely life partners.

Been really busy and not had a chance to visit lately, thought I would make a quick flying visit and am really wishing I hadn't now.

Lonnie, I am so sorry.

I think I may have just come across one of the most impressive first posts ever on this forum.

I suspect we're being duped ... That image looks extremely familiar to me, the lack of exposition on how the image was assembled.... It's spherically mapped, too, which is extremely unusual for a panorama.

It's an image intended for viewing in a 3D panorama viewing program... I recognized the mapping as being a spherical projection. I don't think our beloved canons can do this, if so... I'd like to see the tutorial. Maybe there's panorama stitching software that will remap... unless the OP used a fisheye lens..

Attached is a zip that contains an HTML page, and the ptviewer applet. crop the black border, and rename the file ptv2.jpg, you'll see a very nice view of the church you can scroll around in.

Hey, something told me to drop in this morning.

Lonnie, so sorry about Ashley. She was a member of the forum family and I'll remember her forever. Thanks for sharing her with us. I'm glad you two had so many good times together. She was a great dog and you gave her a wonderful life.

Hmmm...

I'm a bit less skeptical:

First link is a panorama stitching tool, which can create the proper projection.
Second link is from someone who gave some information on how to create the spherical panos, as well as some pretty odd projections..

I have some serious playing time ahead of me, now ...

My cats are acting strange. The cats and Ashley always just ignored each other, but obviously they know something is wrong...

That is the way Eli acted when Anakin passed. It was tough. I had never been attached to a pet like I was Anakin and when I lost him it was like loosing a son. I know you grief Lonnie and wish better spirits for you.

Not much, but it's therapeutic for me. Really sorry, Lonnie.

Very classey Dan, very nice.

Lonnie, I am so sorry :( Ashely was a very special friend. I have had many canine companions over the years and I can honestly say that having only met Ashley once, she resonated with me on a level that only one of my own had. Ashley was a gift that only someone worthy could receive. I am shedding tears with you, my friend.

Wait... sidenote here:

You had a dog named Anakin? Weren't you just slightly afraid that, eventually, inevitably, the dog would turn bad and try to take over the world or something?
