this is one of Dan's FIRST EVER shots...he'd had his camera for maybe a month...to this day it's one of my favorites (he knew nothing about photoshop or processing so I processed it for him...just found it in my files)

that shot was actually with the xt and the dreaded (I really hated that lens, the CA in most cases was so blasted severe) 70-300III.

Not sure. I know it's on the way to Lynden, North of Bellingham. It wasn't just one mountain, but a chain of them.... a range of some sort. I'd like to say the Olympic Range, but I'm not sure that's correct.

Sounds like the northern cascades. The olympics would have been SW from Lynden/Bellingham area whereas the NC's would have been east from you if not slightly NE from you.

I like the idea behind the shot but I think the fog kills the shot for some reason. If it were a nice BLUE sky, CPL sky, the yellow and red elements would strike me more me thinks. With the plain gray it kind of brings it down... IMHO.

yes, it was seriously foggy that day.

Dan took it with the old A85. (before we had digital slrs) I love it...and while it could never be printed up huge (4mp camera) I really like it. And my point? It's not the camera, it's the shooter!
